| 事業内容 |
当法人は米サプライマネジメント協会（略称：ISM、旧称：全米購買管理協会NAPM）の日本代表事務所を発展させ、同協会の日本支社として設立された後、組織変更して現在に至っています。日本で、購買・資材・物流・生産管理等の職業についているビジネスパーソンに対する実務教育,またコンサルテーションを施している教育機関です。更に、国内でサプライマネジメントの職業的意義を率先し、米国規格協会(ANSI)公認のサプライマネジメント資格(C.P.M.=Certified Purchasing Manager)の普及等を通じて、最新のグローバルな戦略的購買価値創造を企業に提供しています。

この法人は、広く市民に対して、商品の購買･調達･供給に至る過程の管理手法であるサプライマネジメントに関する教育事業を行い、日本経済の活性化に寄与することを目的とする。

| 理事長略歴 |
大学卒業後、国内最大の資源エネルギー会社に入社。購買・物流管理、原料調達、製品マーケティング（欧米）、海外事業企画の各部門,またフランス留学、アフリカ駐在、アメリカ（東海岸、西海岸）駐在を経て、複数の外資系企業にて常務執行役員・購買本部長を歴任。2003年4月、ISM（米サプライマネジメント協会）の日本支部として法人化し、代表取締役に就任後、2006年12月1日に特定非営利活動法人日本サプライマネジメント協会TMの理事長に就任。日本で初めてC.P.M.資格を導入し教育したビジネストレーナーとして有名である。 |

| Creation and purpose： |
ISM Japan was founded in 2003 after the period of representation as affiliate of ISM (USA) in order to promote the education of the business persons in purchasing, logistics, production control, and supply chain management in Japan. In addition to the education, it implements the consultation to the Japanese companies in terms of cost reduction, organization management, supply management, global sourcing and logistics. |
| C.P.M. certification programs： |
ISM established the certification program that is the C.P.M.(Certified Purchasing Manager) in 1974 as the global supply management professional designation. ISM Japan started to promote its program in Japan from 2003 in cooperation with Bureau Veritas Japan. |
| Alliance with the university： |
The Tama University, located in Tokyo and its post graduates program are interested in co-promoting the C.P.M.certification program with ISM Japan, and the co-program started in April 2004 with its splendid campus at Shinagawa Intercity.
The Gakushuin University, located in Tokyo and Professor Dr. Morita is very proactive in the field of Production management and supported to the CAPS Japan research group since 1999. |
| Performance： |
ISM Japan also executed in-house seminar upon request; Sharp, Tsukishima Machinery, some SME(small and medium sized enterprises) local association in the field of supply chain management, international commerce basics, INCOTERMS. |

ISM Japan organizes the annual round table in the center of Tokyo with CAPS Research US professors on the first Friday of June. |
